QC Inspections: Bridging the Gap Between Performance and Affordability
Recent regulations including RoHS and the growing testing requirements due to metals contamination of toys, fashion jewelry and other consumer items are driving the need for high-volume, non-destructive metals analysis.
Worldwide, there are thousands of XRF systems in use meeting these quality control needs. However, until now, high quality XRF systems have been prohibitively expensive for companies in emerging markets.
QC Inspection’s corporate mission is to bridge the gap between performance and affordability in XRF technology. Available throughout China and Asia, the QC Inspector (QC-I) offers excellent analytical performance, a wide range of elemental analysis and sample types, and is the most affordable tabeltop XRF ever developed.
The QC-I provides fast and accurate analysis of 20+ elements in a wide variety of samples - polymers, metals, powders, soil, liquids and more. The QC-I can be factory or user calibrated. The Consumer Products package with the QC-I is calibrated with the following standard element package: Cl, Ti, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Br, Hg, Pb, Bi, Ag, Cd, Sn, Sb, Ba
Typical Detection Limits
In many cases tests conclude in seconds - especially for samples with elevated concentrations of Pb or other metals. The following are typical limits of detection for low-density (polymer type) samples for several common elements. 120 second LODs (limits of detection) are shown; increasing testing time will improve detection limits:
- Pb 5 ppm
- Cd 10-15 ppm
- Hg 5 ppm
- As 5 ppm
- Cr 20 ppm
The large chamber (460mm W x 305mm D x 215mm H) allows for a variety of sample analysis:
- Cables
- Connectors
- PCBs
- Metal Components
- Solders
- Toys
